SINDH GOVERNMENT BANS POLYTHENE BAGS FROM 1st OCTOBER WITHIN THE PROVINCE
A wise decision has been taken by the Government of Sindh to impose a ban on the usage of Plastic Shopping Bags within the Provence including Karachi applicable from 1st October 2019.
Plastic- where it plays a role of a helping hand in our daily life but on the contrary, it contains several harmful effects towards Human as well Animal lives and various Environmental Pollutions may occur due to the massive use of polythene bags.
The Chief Minister of Sindh- Murad Ali Shah called upon the ministers to talk on this serious issue that can take the lives away.
In the meeting, they decided to launch a drive with the name of “Say No to Plastic Bags” and instead use “Paper or Cloth Bags”.
They also imposed a section No # 144 against the usage of Plastic Bags.
The purpose of this Campaign is to fight against the “Environmental Pollution” and to spread awareness among the people related to environmental improvement.
This drive is being launched with the association of local people, school children, traders, and media. And hopefully, they all will work together to make it successful and avail this great opportunity of serving the nation.
The traders are also given strict instruction to end their Polythene bags’ stock within the due date. And afterward, they would not be allowed to manufacture further Plastic Bags and if they did so, strict action would be taken against them.
