The Sindh Government has announced a shut down for all the Mobile Networks through about the province specifically in Karachi on account of Muharram.
The interior ministry received a letter from the home department for the allowance to suspend the mobile services and the permission was granted.
The decision was taken to make sure the security of the gatherings “Juloos” by “Shia” community.
The “Shia Community” gather on roads in a great number every year to mourn and commemorate Imam Hussain (A.S.) and other “Shuhada” of Karbala.
As it’s a large community of the nation so it becomes very essentials for the government of Pakistan to put some efforts for their security as previously they had been a victim by the terrorists many times.
The sources have told that the government has made all the necessary security arrangements to mourn processions on 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram. And one of these arrangements is the suspension of mobile networks.
The reason for this blocking network is to keep away from any incident and make sure the security.
Due to the lack of signals, it becomes very hard for the people to contact their beloved ones but yet this step is taken every year by the government as a security measure and it has always proven a positive one.
This year, the 9th and 10th of Muharram “Youm Ashura” will fall on 9th and 10th of September i.e. Monday and Tuesday respectively.
And the government has also made it a public holiday on these both respective days.
