Cold War Steve wants to transform the high streets

Cold War Looking for vacant buildings to utilize as art studios are Steve and his manager Carl Gosling.

These, according to the Birmingham artist, might develop into a hub for the arts where people can enjoy, produce, and exchange ideas.

The duo is promoting the public art initiative under the fictitious previous business name Adequate Supplies.

In 1923, the fake Midlands family chain started up by selling tin pies and washboards. 1990 saw its closure.

The UK high street, according to Mr. Gosling, is a “concept in decline,” in part because of the expansion of internet shopping.

Going to the high street or their neighborhood bank was, in his words, “a pretty significant component of that constancy in their life.”

Due to the pandemic, high street foot traffic decreased, and according to the British Retail Consortium, 14% of properties are currently vacant.

Polar War Steve, whose actual name is Christopher Spencer, said: “I understand that this is a tremendously difficult time for everyone right now.

From my perspective, art rescued me and gives individuals access to a whole new universe.

He noted that the goal of the initiative was to reunite individuals and provide “a little bit of joy via art.”

In Nuneaton, Warwickshire, one of the areas receiving government and other investment for regeneration, he talked to BBC News.

He said that the area has “a lot of history boarded up,” noting the disappearance of Debenhams and BHS.

On high streets, he claimed, there were still “small chinks of life.” He continued, pointing to the abandoned Parc Avenue clothes store, “It’s very stunning actually, in its unorthodox beauty.”

He launched a plea for assistance in locating abandoned, boarded-up properties that might be transformed into the “heart of the community” in addition to “friendly charitable” landlords.

In Captain America’s 80-year history, a brand-new, legendary saga is about to begin! Beginning in 2019, COLD WAR will be a massive comic book crossover between the two continuing Captain America series: CAPTAIN AMERICA: SENTINEL OF LIBERTY by Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Carmen Carnero and CAPTAIN AMERICA: SYMBOL OF TRUTH by Tochi Onyebuchi and R.B. Silva.
