Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi declared on Wednesday that he would be self-isolating for five days following his latest visit to China as a precautionary step to restrict the spread of coronavirus.
“Before we left for China, we had a swab check performed, which was negative,” Shah Mehmood Qureshi told.
“Once we landed in China, a blood and swab check was conducted again, it always came out poorly except just after we had our meetings. Until withdrawing, another blood check was carried out, the outcome of which will be released today, and The Foreign Minister noted that he had wanted to go into self-isolation for five days as a precautionary step.
“In five days, I’m trying to have another swab examination performed, so if it comes out negative, I’m heading out and talking with others. That is what the experts have recommended and I plan to do so in order to provide a precedent for others, “he said.It was not immediately clear that other leaders of the Pakistan delegation, including President Arif Alvi, should also follow these initiatives.
China has agreed to supply Pakistan with diagnostic kits, safety equipment and portable ventilators as the nation continues to cope with the coronavirus epidemic. China would provide us with a cash grant to set up a state-of – the-art insulation center to counter the coronavirus outbreak in the region, willing to support us and also agreed to share their medical expertise.
