The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Pakistan has risen to 179 after a rapid increase in cases has been registered among pilgrims who have recently returned from Iran via Taftan and quarantined in Sukkur. The overall number of recorded cases in Sindh shootings ranged from 103 to 146 after 43 new cases were registered in Sukkur.
This exponential rise is primarily attributed to the recent inflow of plp from Taaftaan after the suspected quarantined, “said MurtazaWahab, a government spokesman for Sindh.
Earlier in the day, the Sindh Health Department announced that a total of 76 people from Taftan had been found positive for the virus in Sukkur, where they were quarantined, while there were 26 cases in Karachi and one in Hyderabad.15 new cases were also registered by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all of whom were pilgrims who had returned to Pakistan via Taftan. Ten cases have been registered by Balochistan, four by Islamabad, three by Gilgit-Baltistan and one by Punjab. Subsequently, the regional count increased to 136.
