Amy Schumer Makes a Joke About Not Having a Uterus After Being ‘Accused’ of the National Tampon Shortage Amy Schumer stated in September 2021 that she had endometriosis and had her uterus and appendix removed.
Amy Schumer is quite content with being the subject of her own jokes.

The 40-year-old actress from I Feel Pretty shared an article on Thursday about how she is being “blamed” for the nationwide tampon shortage. According to a spokeswoman for Procter & Gamble, retail sales growth for Tampax has “exploded” since Schumer featured in their 2020 advertisements, and demand is up 7.7%.

Schumer, who had her uterus removed last year due to endometriosis, taunted, “Whoa, I don’t even have a uterus.” Several of the comedian’s fans reacted with laughter, calling the scenario “crazy.”

“Way to go, Amy… Please take all of the tampons! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂😂. “What do people think u did replace ur uterus with all the tampons?” one person remarked, while another said, “Bless your heart!””
Schumer documented the excision of her uterus and appendix on Instagram in September 2021, in a video filmed by her husband Chris Fischer while she was recovering in the hospital.

“It’s the morning after my endometriosis surgery, and my uterus is out,” she said to the camera. “The doctor discovered 30 endometriosis patches, which he removed. My appendix had been affected by endometriosis, so he had to remove it.”

“There was a lot, a lot of blood in my uterus, and I’m hurting and have some gas sensations,” Schumer continued.

“If you have particularly painful periods, you may have #endometriosis,” she added in the post.
Schumer’s new tweet isn’t the first time she’s made light of her personal life. The actress claimed her Halloween costume was a tampon just six weeks after having her uterus removed, proudly recording herself wearing a blue, full-body Tampax suit while trick-or-treating in New York City.

“I don’t have a uterus, but that doesn’t mean I can’t wear Tampax, okay?” She made a joke in the video, which also included two photographs of her posing in the outfit.

“When @amyschumer informed us she was going to be a bloodsucker for #Halloween, this is not what we were expecting…,” the official Tampax Instagram account said.

Many of Schumer’s fans reacted positively to the post, laughing at the “amazing” outfit and praising her for her ability to remain optimistic about her condition.

“LOL! Nothing compares to this outfit. PERIOD, PERIOD, PERIOD, PERIOD “According to one Instagram user. Someone else remarked, “This is fantastic!!! And it’s even more incredible to see you mainstream the conversation around reproductive health.”
