A PAKISTANI STARTUP INTRODUCES A VIRTUAL REALITY APP TO TRAIN PILGRIMS
Are you going to perform Umrah or Hajj but are confused about the performance? No worries at all, as a “Training Guide App” has been launched to assist you before going to the Holy Place of Makkah for the performance of the fifth pillar of Islam “Hajj”.
A Startup Company of Pakistan named Labbaik – Virtual Reality (VR) has developed a Simulator Application to train the people going for the Pilgrimage via virtual reality in 3D. this application will let the pilgrims feel as if they are within the Holy sites performing the different rituals (Rukun) of Hajj. This app will guide them on how to perform each “Rukun” at the specific site in Makkah.
Mr. Shahriar Ashraf- The CEO of the company said that this App is aimed to reduce the problems that Hajj Pilgrims face. We train them in a virtual environment that is closely resembled the actual sites in Makkah. The practice will enable them to perform the actual rites with ease and safety when they will perform Hajj/ Umrah in actual.
Mr. Ashraf further said that the decision of training the pilgrims with such a Virtual Reality was taken three years back. For the launch of this project, our talks with the Religious Affairs Ministry have come to an end and hopefully, we will inaugurate the App next month. And this year around 5000 pilgrims will be trained by our Simulator App.
The authorities have told that the App consists of many years of research and it resulted after the struggle and hard work of about 10 years. The spokesperson from the authorities has further stated that they had been to Saudi Arabia to analyze the architecture. And under the assistance of the experts who had gathered the measurements, we drew the layouts for the Virtual Reconstruction.
The App has the ability to change the language as per the ease of the pilgrims from different areas of the country. There is a choice to translate whether in Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashto, or Balochi, etc. The App consists of over about 80,000 textures of different Holy Sites. And about 75,000 – 80,000 high definition photographs are used for the measurement of the Holy Kaaba and Masjid-e-Haram.
This technology can be a great asset for the country and the owners and can earn them fame worldwide if it succeeds.
