CONSTRUCTION OF HINDU TEMPLE IN ISLAMABAD
CONSTRUCTION OF HINDU TEMPLE IN ISLAMABAD HALTED DUE TO LACK OF BUILDING PLAN
Construction of a Hindu temple in the federal capital Islamabad was halted due to lack of building plan. CDA has directed to prepare a plan for the construction of the temple. Construction of the temple can be started once the building plan is received. CDA spokesman Mazhar Hassan said construction of the Hindu temple was suspended because no building plan for the temple had been received.
The EDA has directed to prepare and submit the building plan of the temple. Construction can be allowed after reviewing the temple plan. Similarly, CDA Chairman Amir Ahmad Ali told a channel that there was no land dispute in Sector H9 of Islamabad. There are two stages in which it is seen that the place has been approved and there is also an “allotment letter”, later a building plan or map has to be given.
Now it is instructed to make a map and submit it. On Monday, the staff will inspect the land for the construction of the temple. It is clear that news was circulating in the media, especially on social media, that the construction of the temple has been stopped by the government under pressure. But government statements also refuted this impression. It may be recalled that Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri also told the media that there has been a lot of discussion regarding the Hindu temple.
Islam teaches the rights of minorities. The land was allotted for the temple in Islamabad in 2017. No funds have been provided for the temple yet. It remains to be seen whether funds will be provided for the construction of the temple. Funds for the construction of the temple will be decided by the Islamic Ideological Council. It should be noted that Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to seek guidance and consultation from the Islamic Ideological Council on the issue of construction of a Hindu temple in Islamabad. Following the recommendations of the Islamic Ideological Council, the Prime Minister will decide on the funds for the construction of the temple. In this regard, the decision will be taken keeping in view all the social and religious aspects.
